This lustrous, rich eco-velvet weighted blanket is luxuriously soft and snuggly, making it perfect for cozying up in style.
Weighted blankets have been medically proven to aid naturally deeper sleep cycles. The weight on your body stimulates the production of serotonin (the happy hormone), reduces cortisol (the stress hormone), and increases melatonin, which helps you fall (and stay) asleep.
Our Velvet Napper helps you sleep more deeply, and wake feeling rested and revitalized.
Free shipping and easy returns.
Our sublimely soft eco-velvet is spun and brushed into a super-smooth signature fabric with a lush, luminous finish.
Unlike typical velvet, our sustainable eco-velvet is made from ocean bound plastic, preventing 900 plastic bottles from polluting our oceans.
100% upcycled, GRS-certified, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and Fairtrade International certified (100% recycled polyester)
We recommend dry cleaning your Velvet Napper to ensure it stays wonderfully soft and in tip-top shape for many naps to come!
Our Napper is designed for a single person and comes in 3 different weights:
15 lbs - 40" x 72"
20 lbs - 45" x 72"
25 lbs - 48" x 72"
Your Napper should be roughly 10% of your body weight (i.e 150lb body weight = 15lb Napper).
If you're between weights, we recommend you go with the higher weight category (i.e 170lb body weight is best-suited to a 20lb Napper).
The best weighted blankets are handmade! Since our Nappers are hand-knit, size and weight can vary slightly between each blanket.

I absolutely love my velvet Bearaby. I bought it in Jade after reading so many wonderful reviews of the product especially the Velvet. I am waiting for my cotton Bearaby to get delivered and will compare both, but either way its been the best sleep I have had in a while. Hard to get out of bed. Slept through the alarm clock when I first received it.Was this helpful?BBearaby5/31/22Thank you so much for taking the time to share such wonderful feedback, Nazish! 💙 We're over the moon to hear that you've benefitted from better sleep since using your Napper, and wish you the happiest of naps ahead :hugging:

- ARAndrea R.3/16/22Rated 4 starsA Full Comprehensive Review after Months
Most of the reviews on here are after a couple days or weeks; I wanted to wait a couple months before giving this blanket a review. My personal experience was really amazing with weighted blankets. I eat healthy (at least I think I do), i exercise a minimum for 4 times a week for an hour and I do wind down time but my sleep has been wrecked because … well life has been hard. My nearly destroyed sleep improved 10 fold. When time allows I am back to sleeping a full 8 hours, i no longer watch the clock strike every hour during the night. I still have restless and exhausting nights every blue moon but hey! It happens. It’s been a tough year for everyone.
- incredibly soft, luxurious feel, high quality materials
- the initial tight knit is EXCELLENT in weight distribution.
-colors; I had a Jade and Tourmaline colored blanket. The Jade was more silvery than green but still beautiful. The Tourmaline is as pictured, beaaauuuutiful, so beautiful it stays on my bed. If your mainly looking for couch candy and money isn’t an issue… look no further because this is it.
- does NOT sleep hot; the cotton by far less hot but this is cozy but still very cool, I actually put it on top of my comforter.
- The weave loosens. This is a fact as bearaby has a video to show you how to tighter the weave. That’s what CS tells you when you talk to them. I have a problem with this because ITS A 300, THREE HUNDRED dollar blanket… a blanket that looks like something I could get from pottery barn for a third of the price. My first bearaby blanket became really loose but I was still within Bearaby extended COVID return window. I decided to give them a second chance and my second one has been better but I treat it completely different than the first one. With the first on, I followed their care instructions to the T. The second one I do not roll up every night and the knit is holding up better than the first one held up. The knit is loosening but alas better. I cradle it, my finger NEVER poke through. I do NOT pick it up with the strands. I baby it as much as possible to not contribute to the weave loosening.
- return window timeframe/policy; I understand not washing but if you stand by the quality of your item, this should be more than 30 days………
Comparing to their closest competitor:
The knit is my main issue with Bearaby’s blanket. Comparing to their closest competitor’s blanket whose knit is really strong and not coming undone at all. I do not treat that one as carefully as I do the velvet bearaby one. That one I fold up and tug on and nothing, knit falls into place beautifully. Now the one * I have to put in here is the competitors blanket (it’s also cheaper) is the direct equivalent to The Cotton Napper. I have the Velvet Napper. I’m not sure if this changes things and it’s just the velvet that has the problem because it’s softer? I don’t know. The competitors colors aren’t as pretty, the fabric isn’t as soft, stretches more but actual knit holds up better.
Bearabys knit has a better weight distribution so I chose to keep it. I have both, but gave competitor one to my husband…
Overall: I kept my bearaby blanket and I do love it. It’s beautiful, heavy, and makes me sleep like a baby while soothing my anxiety with soft materials. But I just wish I didn’t have to attempt at weaving it back, because the truth is I don’t understand how to. Also, for 300 I don’t believe I should. Was this helpful?
Frequently Asked Questions
What is eco-velvet fabric?
Our exceptionally cozy, luxuriously soft eco-velvet is made of ocean bound plastic, which is spun and brushed into our super-soft signature fabric. Each Velvet Napper keeps 900 plastic bottles from polluting our oceans. It’s a feel-good fabric in every possible way!
What is the difference between the Cotton and Velvet Napper?
Our Cotton Napper feels like your favorite t-shirt. It’s soft, breathable, and perfect for sleeping under night after night. Our Velvet Napper (which is actually made from plastic bottles!) is better suited to cozy couch cuddles, and has a shimmery finish which makes it ideal couch candy, too!
How do weighted blankets work?
Science has shown that sleeping under a weighted blanket improves sleep quality, lowers stress, and eases anxiety, which means you wake up to a brighter day!
The weight helps to ‘ground’ you, helping you to feel safe and secure. It feels like your blanket is giving you a big cozy hug!
The weight on your body also delivers something called Deep Touch Pressure, or DTP. DTP has been scientifically proven to: Increase serotonin, which helps you feel happy and content Increases melatonin, which helps you drift off to a deep sleep Decreases cortisol, which helps reduce feelings of anxiety and stress
